Why Lacanche?

Are there certain advantages to a Lacanche Hood?

The most notable advantage is that they are built to complement the Lacanche range in both design and color.  They are constructed with the same quality and precision of the Lacanche range, with eight hood models in varying widths to choose from.

What types of designs pair well with your hoods?

With the simple lines and timeless design, our hoods work well for either a traditional or modern kitchen design. The color matching to the range creates a complete look that adds visual cohesiveness.

What is the hood made of?

Stainless steel and powder-coated panels.

Choosing a Hood

What if I’m not sure which hood and insert are right for my range?

We have a dedicated sales team who will assist you during the entire process, providing guidance on matters such as the size of the hood, available insert options, colors, and duct cover height.

How do I know what size hood I will need for my range?

Again, our sales team is here to help.  In general, all of our hood bodies feature a canopy that is 100mm wider on each side to ensure optimal capture. Depending on your range configuration, the insert and size of hood will be recommended.

Is there a minimum height or maximum height for my ceiling?

Yes. 8’ is the minimum.  11’ is max.

Is there a minimum ceiling height required for installing a Lacanche hood?

With a 36” range height and 36” mounting height, the minimum ceiling height is 96.75″. This  works only if the ducting exits out the ceiling.

I have a ceiling taller than 12ft. Is there anything I need to consider related to the duct cover?

Please consult your sales person for possible solutions.

Does Lacanche make an island hood?

No.

Do you offer a recirculating or ductless hood insert option?

No.

Hood Inserts

Does the Lacanche hood come with an insert(blower)?

The hoods do not come with a blower, however we have specified some options from Vent-A-Hood and Moderne-Aire for you to choose from. The insert you select will be shipped with the hood, but not fitted inside the hood body.

Why did you choose Vent-A-Hood and Moderne-Aire for inserts?

Both of these inserts fit seamlessly into the Lacanche hood and are very reputable companies in the USA. Vent-A-Hood manufactured the first home range hood more than 89 years ago.  Moderne-Aire is a family-based business. Since 1956, they have been solely dedicated to providing exceptional ventilation meeting all the UL requirements.

Why are the Moderne-Aire inserts more expensive?

Moderne-Aire inserts are custom inserts for our hoods with adjustable higher CFM rate, resulting in their higher price.

What is the difference between the Magic Lung and Baffle Filter?

Magic Lung provides a quiet but powerful blower that traps all the cooking contaminants. It combines sufficient air pressure and constant speed with centrifugal filtration. Because it doesn’t pull air through a filter, it is considered one of the most efficient kitchen ventilation systems available today. A Baffle filter helps to force grease-saturated air to change direction quickly and repeatedly as it rises through the filter. Because the grease droplets are unable to change direction as rapidly as the air carrying them, they condense on the metal blades and then drain into the filter. Baffle filters are often recommended for people who use high levels of heat or stir-fry frequently.

What is the difference between the Vent-A-Hood B-Series and M-Series?

Vent-A-Hood’s B-Series is a centrifugal blower technology used in their Premier Magic Lung line of ventilation products. The B-Series blowers are constant-speed and designed to prevent flames and grease from entering the duct, making them fire safe. They also have 99% efficient grease extraction and are considered to be very quiet.

M Line ventilation uses industrial grade stainless steel baffle filters and blower motors for maximum effectiveness. Every M Line includes a 4-speed blower control. M Line motors are sold separately and available in internal 630 CFM and 1035 CFM.

What is the importance of having a hood?

A range hood is a useful tool that removes pollutants from the air while cooking. These pollutants include smoke, grease, and odors. A hood’s motorized fan pulls the polluted air through and either filters it and recirculates it, or carries it outside. Hoods also provide less kitchen odor, easier clean up, additional lighting, style, and longevity of your appliances.

Customizing a Hood

What customizations are available for the hoods?

You can choose the hood body color, the duct cover height, and the duct cover color. Our hoods come standard with our signature matte black hood body with the 250mm stainless steel duct cover. There are additional costs if choosing one of our premium color finishes for either hood body or duct cover or if an extended duct cover is needed.

Can I change the lower stainless steel hood lip in brass or any other color?

No, it only comes in stainless.

Can I color match the duct cover to my hood body?

Yes.

Do you have hood color chips available?

We do not have hood color chips available; however, we do have range color chips available. The range colors correspond to the hood colors.

Is Shiny Black(Noir Brilliant) available?

No.

Install

If I ordered a range and hood at the same time, will they arrive simultaneously?

The hoods typically arrive earlier than the ranges, but most owners request to receive the hood and the range at the same time.

Since the hood comes in earlier than the range, what if I am not ready to receive it?

We provide 60 days complimentary storage, with the option to extend for a monthly fee.
